TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

 

  1. Draft limit is 45’ salt water – with a positive tide reading no exceptions.  A Real Time Navigation System sponsored by the Port of Corpus Christi.  Phone: 825-3474

  2. For two way traffic east of the Harbor Bridge to the #3 buoy, the combined draft shall not exceed 80’ based on the deepest saltwater draft of the arrival vessel.

  3. Combined beam limit for Cut “B” (400’ channel) is 251 ft.  If vessels exceed beam limit, inbound will be auto for 2 hours later.  On arrival, whoever orders first, the other holds for 2 hours.

  4. One way traffic applies to all 2 Pilot ships in Cut “B”.

  5. Combined beams shall not exceed 310 ft. in Cut “A”.  If vessels exceed beam limit of 310 ft, one vessel will have an order time of 2 hours from the Harbor Bridge breakwater time or the Jetty cross in time for pilot notification.

  6. A 2 hour order time shall be set, based on breakwater time, for a Citgo 3 swap out of Lakemax Vessels.

  7. Vessels having a Length Overall of 900 ft or more, or Deadweight Tonnage of 130,000 or more, constitutes a requirement of 2 Pilots and daylight only transit of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.

  8. Any dead ship over 250 ft. crossing the bar requires 2 pilots and daylight only transit of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.

  9. Any vessel that requires a tug escort per letter of deviation shall be daylight only transit of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.

  10. Any vessel without a working gyro compass is daylight restricted.

  11. Combined beams of three ships located at Citgo 1, Public Elevator and vessel passing between these ships, shall be restricted to 352 ft.  To be reviewed when a Z-drive tug(s) is available.

  12. All ships that require a Letter of Deviation are restricted to daylight only transit.

  13. All ships with mechanical deficiencies that prevent full maneuvering capabilities will be restricted to daylight only transit and one way traffic unless the pilot lifts the one way restriction after boarding vessel.
